Multiburst Test Pattern

The image below is an example of a NTSC multiburst test pattern. Multiburst is used to measure the frequency response of a video system, specifically, how flat the system is.

The system should be as flat as possible, otherwise signal amplitudes become distorted as a function of frequency, resulting in the exaggeration of certain frequencies in the picture.
