Overview of Adobe Premiere Elements
Adobe Premiere Elements is a simplified version of Adobe Premiere Pro, targeted at the amateur/home video enthusiast market.
Premiere Elements is not a fully-featured video editor. Rather, it is a straightforward tool that uses a very simple interface and wizard-type features to easily work with video. It does a fantastic job for those who are new to video and it's a great learning tool. It is also powerful enough to get creative, as long as you don't want to get too tricky or technical.
The screenshot below shows the main editing interface. Media assets (video clips etc) are collected in the Media panel to the left. The lower Project panel shows the timeline, where you arrange assets into the desired sequence and add transitions between them (fades, wipes, etc). The Monitor panel shows the video and allows you to make edits.
