Genres in Film & Television
Genre can be defined as "a class or category of artistic work characterised by a particular form, content or technique". There are no hard and fast rules though — many people interpret the word differently.
For example, "indie films" are often referred to as a genre but according to most definitions they do not constitute a separate genre. Rather, the term "indie" simply means that the production is independent of a major studio. An indie film could be romance or horror.
